Web Analytics Training Course

8 weeks online training course (with up to 1 year access to the study material + Free Course updates)

Upon completion of this online course you will gain the skills to:

  • Create a strategic roadmap for your business. This roadmap provides the big picture and the direction in which your company and marketing campaigns should move to get the highest possible return on investment.

  • Master all of the elements that go into extracting insight from data and optimizing the online performance of your business for sales and conversions.
  • Achieve your business objectives within the area of your responsibility and expertise, and that too in the most efficient manner.
  • Do a very focused and meaningful analysis from the very start.
  • Quickly deliver recommendations and rapidly deploy solutions which solve your customers problem either wholly or in parts.

 What are the course objectives?

The aim here is to conduct a very focused and meaningful analysis from the very start. The aim is to quickly deliver recommendations and rapidly deploy solutions which solve your customers problem either wholly or in parts.

There is a strong focus on interpreting data correctly. The majority of optimizers do not really understand data. They have no idea how the data was collected or whether it can be trusted. They can’t differentiate between quantitative analysis and qualitative analysis and actually think that one is better than the other. They run tests after tests without sound knowledge of maths and stats and often fail spectacularly.

They start their optimization journey by evaluating web page designs and running series of A/B tests. You need to do lot more than evaluating page design to improve the business bottomline.

Web Analytics is the core skill. Google Analytics is just a tool used to implement ‘Web Analytics’. Using Google Analytics without the understanding of ‘web analytics’ is like aimlessly driving around in a car, in a big city. You have all the data you need but you don’t know how to use and interpret it correctly.

The cornerstone of every successful analysis is “moving in the right direction”. The direction in which your analysis will move, will determine the direction in which your marketing campaigns and eventually your company will move to get the highest possible return on investment. My course aim to give you that direction.

Through this course you will learn to avoid all these mistakes which others are unfortunately destined to make for the foreseeable future.

How is this course better than a conference, live course, workshop or webinar?

Continously assessed

This course is very comprehensive and is chock-full of assessments. There is no big final exam in this course which you need to take and pass. Instead you are tested throughout the course. And since you are tested throughout the course, you are guaranteed to learn. The passing marks for each assessment is 80%. If you do not pass the assessment the first time, you need to take it again until your passing mark is 80% or more. You earn your way through the course.

Course structure

The course is structured in such a way that you cannot take subsequent lessons (like lesson 2), if you have not already passed the assessment for the current lesson. This has been done to ensure that you actually ‘learn’ from this course and not just skim through the course material and forget 80% of what you read in couple of days. There is a strong focus on learning here and the various assessments embedded in this course will greatly help you in your learning.

Testing your learning

Lot of courses/webinars/workshops out there do not really assess your understanding of the study material. They either do not test you at all or they do not test you well. They just award you the ‘certificate of completion’ or better say ‘certificate of participation’. This ‘certificate of participation’ won’t do you any good especially even after course completion, you still can not do a very focused and meaningful analysis or struggle to improve your business bottomline.

In the real world, a ‘certificate of participation’ has no commercial value. They are dime a dozen and everyone has got one. You won’t get a ‘certificate of participation’ from this course. What you will get is the ‘certificate of achievement. There are no easy grades awarded here. You need to work hard to earn this certificate. But in the end, the effort is worth it. You will actually learn, remember and use web analytics.

This course is designed to be completed within 8 weeks and has got dozens of assignments with hundreds of questions.

You learn world class web analytics really fast

When it comes to learning, there are two ways: The easy way and the hard way.

The easy way is that you learn things on the Job, on you own but with an incredibly slow pace, over the years/decades, by doing hit and trial, stumbling and failing countless times, along the way to success. The hard way and also the smart way is to go through a crash course and learn to avoid even those mistakes which you have not made yet. Why repeat the mistakes which others have made before you? It doesn’t make any sense. Learn from other people’s mistakes and avoid them.

If you believe in head starting then learn from the best in the industry. Reading blog posts and attending conferences are all good but they can never be a substitute for a good coaching program. Through blog posts and conferences, you will get only fragmented knowledge and not a blue print of the entire optimization process. If you are serious about learning and taking your career to the next level, come and join me. I have got more than 500 dedicated students now.

 How practical this course is?

I am a working professional just like you. I am not a full time teacher who used to practice web analytics. I practice what I preach on a daily basis. I won’t teach you anything which is not instantly useful to you, in your day to day working life. I value your time as much, as I value my time. Thus expect zero fluff in the course material. I want you to complete this course fast and apply it in your working life ASAP. I want you to get instant results.

Will I be able to understand the study material?

As long as you understand the English language, have a working knowledge of e-commerce and a web analytics tool like Google Analytics, you will understand and absorb the study material. No knowledge of maths and statistics is required.

What are the system requirements for taking this course?

Since there are no audio and videos in this course, you won’t need a headset and a quiet environment in order to absorb the study material. You can take this course from any place (home, office, train, bus, plane, airport or any noisy place) as long as you have access to the internet.

So you can actually take this course from anywhere. You won’t even need a high speed internet connection, as there are no audios and videos to stream. This creates a more flexible learning environment.

Who should enroll for this course?

Any person who wants to improve the online performance of their business and marketing campaigns will benefit from this course. This includes entrepreneurs, marketing professionals and business owners.

Online marketers, web analysts, conversion optimizers and data scientists will benefit the most from this course.

If you are a college student then this course can help you tremendously in building your career in web analytics.

What do I need to know in advance in order to benefit from this course?

In order to get the maximum benefit from this course, you need to have a working knowledge of e-commerce and a web analytics tool like Google Analytics. No knowledge of maths and statistics is required.

Will I be able to complete this course on time?

Majority of students are able to complete this work within 6 weeks and you have got access to the study material for a year.

What is this course NOT about?

This course is not about Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics or any particular web analytics tool or technology. This is not a tool/technology specific course. This is not a course on business intelligence or data science. There are no chapters on business analytics technologies like: ‘supply chain analytics’, ‘stakeholder management’,‘predictive analytics’, ‘R’ etc.

In this course, the focus is mainly on learning web/digital analytics and optimizing the online performance of a business. The focus is on analysing and optimizing any online and offline footprints of a business, as long as they can be measured, classified or categorized and are used to optimize the online performance of a business.

Data can also be used to optimize the offline performance of a business and to take wide range of business decisions from operational, strategic to predictive. For that we use other business analytics technologies like: ‘supply chain analytics’, ‘stakeholder management’,‘predictive analytics’ etc. all of which are not web analytics.

 How is the course structured?

This is an online and self-paced course.

This course is made up of 14 lessons. For example:

Each lesson is divided into several small easy to digest topics:

It should not take you more than 3 minutes to go through each topic.

Once you complete a lesson or topic, you mark it as ‘complete’. In this way you can keep track of your course progress all the time:

At the end of each lesson there are one or more assessments which you need to take and pass before you are qualified to move to subsequent lessons:

The passing marks for each assessment is 80%. If you do not pass the assessment the first time, you need to take it again until your passing mark is 80% or more. This has been done to ensure that you have successfully absorbed the study material before you are in a position to take advanced lessons.

You can retake the assessment as many times as required. You can also go through the corresponding lesson again before re-taking the test.

There is not a final exam in this course which you need to take and pass in order to get the certificate. Instead you are tested throughout the course. The course is structured in such a way that you can not take subsequent lessons like lesson 2, if you have already not passed the assessment for lesson 1.

This has been done to ensure that you actually learn from this course. There is a strong focus on learning here and the various assessments embedded in this course will help you in your learning.

I sincerely want you to learn from this course and not just skim through the study material and forget 80% of whatever you have studied in couple of weeks. Once you take this course, you are guaranteed to learn web analytics.

Are you guaranteed to get certified?

We do not award certificates for participation. You need to pass all of the assessments in order to get the certificate. The passing percentage is 80% for each assessment. If you understand the study material, you will easily pass the various assessments. Following is the snapshot of a student passing the various assessments with flying colours:

What Ex-students have to say about this course?

 Can you fail this course?

No. You cannot fail this course. The various assessments embedded in the course are developed in such a way that you can take them over and over again, until your passing percentage is 80% or more.

Is the course up to date and relevant?

Yes the course is up to date and relevant for 2017. We almost always update the course. So it can never go outdated at any point in time. Just few days ago, we updated the entire section on KPI. Added a dozen more topics and assessment questions.

Have you ever enrolled in a ‘Web Analytics Training course’ before?

Let me tell you, how much web analytics training cost me.

I spent US $3000 of my own money to learn web analytics in 2012.

Following is the receipt of the payment I made back in 2012 to ‘Market Motive‘ (company founded by Avinash Kaushik):

Note my monthly payments. Spending over $1k each month.
That was in the year 2012. Some 5 years ago. Same training today would have cost over US $7000

Since then I have acquired 10x more knowledge through my own efforts and it is ever increasing. I understand not many people can afford to spend $3k on a course and I don’t want students taking loan in order to enrol in my course. This is the only reason I am providing my course for cheap. It is not my main source of income. I can take it down tomorrow.

Note: Avinash kaushik no longer teaches web analytics at market motive from whom I got my training. He sold his company to ‘SimpliLearn’ in 2015.

Let’s break down my course cost by day.

For $498, you get one year (365 days) access to the study material. And I add new contents to the course all the time. So you would be paying just $1.36 a day.  A cup of coffee cost much more than that : )

You would be getting more value out of this course than the $3000 course I took in the year 2012. Because since then I have acquired 10x more knowledge through my own efforts and it is ever increasing.

Compared to a candy bar, yes it’s a significant purchase.

But when you look at weekly, monthly, yearly ROI, you’ll actually save money.

You get more value out of this course than from $800-$2500 conference which most likely will never be able to justify its fees. You don’t need to take my word. Read what other students think about the course: https://www.optimizesmart.com/web-analytics-training-course-reviews/

Ask your company to pay for this course

If you work in-house, you don’t really need to pay from your own pocket. You can simply ask your boss/company to pay for this course. They won’t say ‘no’ to your training, as it will eventually benefit them. For any company, this is a small expense. Many of my students asked their companies to pay for this course and they did. However you would need to ‘ask’. If you don’t ask, you won’t get the sponsorship.

How much this course cost?

US $1.36 / day for 365 days = $498

When is the best time to take this course?

The right time for taking this course is ‘NOW’. Let me give you one real life example. One day in 2012, I got an email from ‘Market Motive’ to take their new course on ‘web analytics’ which is directly coached by ‘Avinash Kaushik‘ (world famous Analytics Guru who work for Google) . The fees of the course was US $3000. Not a small amount for me. But I didn’t think thrice and took the course.

Had I waited long enough, I may have missed my chance to be coached directly by Avinash, as his company ‘Market Motive’ was acquired by ‘Simply Learn’ back in 2015 and he is now, no longer coaching new students. That’s how people miss opportunities in life. When something is offered to them they don’t grab it straightway. They wait for the right time. If you wait for the perfect moment, it may never come. I may take down this course tomorrow. It is not my main source of income. So what are you waiting for? Start now. Take this course while it is still available.
