Note: Google Data Studio is now known as Looker Studio.
While editing a data source schema, you get the option to change the ‘Field editing in reports‘ settings:
Use the Field editing in reports setting to allow or stop report editors from changing the definition of data source schema fields at the chart level.
By default, the ‘Field editing in reports’ setting is turned ON and you should keep it ON because it makes customizing your reports faster and easier.
If you want to stop report editors from changing the definitions of data source schema fields at the chart level then set the ‘Field editing in reports’ setting to ‘OFF’ by simply clicking on it once:
What can you edit if field editing is turned on?
