How to Find Top Performing Keywords in Google Analytics
Once you know the top landing for your top-selling product, you can improve its performance further by targeting/bidding on the top-performing keywords.
Step-1: Upload this custom report called ‘Product Analysis’ in your main Google Analytics view (if you haven’t already): https://analytics.google.com/analytics/web/template?uid=T9NIg6JpQouv-ds7RNJ9-Q
Step-2: Open the custom report.
Step-3: Make sure you set the date range of the report to the last three months.
Step-4: Navigate to the data table which list your top landing pages for your top traffic source.
Step-5: Click on the name of your top landing page in the data table:
You should now see the list of all the keywords which sent traffic to your top landing page (provided your traffic source is either organic or paid search traffic).
However, for this analysis to work, your Google Analytics property must not be suffering from not provided keywords issues.
Not provided keyword is a keyword without ‘keyword referral data’.
In order to reveal not provided keywords in your Google Account, I use a tool called ‘Keyword Hero‘. Without using such a tool, you cannot truly benefit from the power of tracking keywords in Google Analytics as there will be little to no keywords data to analyze.
